The Kent Schools' County Championships were held at Mid Kent GC on 31st March.

The winner of the Boys' Championship was Connor Fletcher(4) from Maidstone G S with an excellent score of two over par 72.In second place on 74 was Jordan Godwin(scr) Wilmington GS with Danny Osborne(5) St Simon Stock School in third place with a 75 on countback from Michael Puddy(4) Rochester Maths and Liam Sutton(8) Simon Langton GS.

The winner of the Girls' Championship for the second year running was 2 handicap Sian Evans(Rainham Mark GS) whose gross 72 was four shots better than Lucy Matthews(Bromley High.In third place was Jerri Sewell(Blackfen) sister of Marcus,with a 78.The entry of eight girls was very encouraging.

The handicap winner was Bobby Twyner(11) with an excellent net 66 from Liam Sutton 67 and Marcus Sewell(12) Burnt Oak with a 69. Marcus is still at Primary School and looks to have a promising future in golf.

Kent Schools played their annual match against Middlesex Schools at Fulwell G C on Monday 6th April.With a 3-1 lead after the morning foursomes, Kent were in a strong position and went on to take the singles 51/2 -21/2 to emerge winners by 81/2 to 31/2.

Jordan Godwin(Wilmington GS) and Jerome Titlow(St Simon Stock) beat Danial Parsons and Nial Keogh 6 and 4.

Ed Cannons(Sir Roger Manwood's) and Connor Fletcher(Maidstone GS) lost to Max McGrail and Lee Clancy 2 and 1.

Alfie Plant(Hurtsmere) and Freddie Price(Hurstmere) beat Mark Kuber and Jordan Foster 6 and 5.

Michael Puddy(Rochester Maths) and Jake Spearpoint(Brockhill Park) beat Edward Evans and Jay Garrick by one hole.

Jordan Godwin lost to Daniel Parsons by one hole

Jerome Titlow beat Nial Keogh 2 and 1

Alfie Plant lost to Mark Kuber 2 and 1

Freddie Price beat Jordan Foster 2 and 1  

Connor Fletcher beat Jay Garrick 8 and 6 and Max McGrail 2 and 1.(Ed Cannons was unable to play in the singles and Fletcher played 2 matches.)

Michael Puddy beat Edward Evans 5 and 4

Jake Spearpoint halved with Lee Clancy.

Godwin,Fletcher and Titlow qualified for the English Schools' National Championships at Fulwell GC on 22nd June.Kent won the Boys' Team Championship and Jordan Godwin's afternoon 70 was one of only two sub-par rounds.The weather in the morning was wet and windy,but drier pm though still windy.

Sewell qualified for the National Championships and she and Barber were second in the Girls' Team Championship just two shots behind Surrey.The girls performance was particularly impressive as Jerri(11 handicap) is 13 and Marnie(12) 14. Jerri also won an autographed book by Peter Alliss, donated by the Club owner, for the best net score of the day of 137.Subsequently,they both played well in the Kent Girls' Championship on Thursday 28th May
